My little Monkey reading

A little clip of the beauty and wonder that is Alethea. A special cameo by Elijah later as the knowledgeable big brother. A forewarning, tilt your head for the first 30 seconds.

A few more picture gems.

A whole lot of poopin going on

This weekend, the kids and I joined our friends to behold a miracle in Costa Mesa, the 2nd annual Orange County fair Cattle Drive. So with our helmets on, we joined the herd of people filling towards the bullss

What a sight to see, so many cheeseburgers all hoofing it to make their strong muscles bigger and juicier.

and in case you didn't think they were actually real and moving, here some video.

Two little fish

Catching up on the summer events... Each of the children definitely learned and grew threw the 4 weeks of swim lessons. For Elijah it was learning that he will not drown in the pool (especially when you can touch the bottom) and then that he could swim all the way across the pool without help.

See him go from hesitant and uncomfortable in the first days to confident and happy in the pool was yet another testament to the truth of personal growth in all of us.

Finally of course, there is the last day of lessons and the every child's coming of age moment, the leap of faith, the high dive.

The lessons for Alethea were that she can in fact drown (even though she really believes and tries to swim), taking turns with the teacher is important,

and that swim lessons are fun.

Then there was the build up. Would Alethea jump off the diving board or be dropped off?

Of course anybody truly blessed enough to hear Alethea belt out a joyous "Cannonball" knows what she did

A Fair Day

Our day was fun as the children ran and played in the summer sun. A the kids reminded us, today was the kids day to choose. After the rides and a filling mountain of fries from the world renowned Juicy's, we wound down the night with a tour through the art exhibit hall and finally, a concert by a Pink Floyd cover band.
